Blue Sage Pottery & Art Gallery offers Wedding and Gift Registry. Choose from an assortment of pottery and gifts, or request a custom order.
How do I create a registry?
The first step in registry is to call and schedule an appointment. (If you live out of town we can correspond by phone and e-mail.) During the appointment you may look at examples, and let us know what you are interested in. Many registrants will choose a dinner set that is already on display in the gallery. That set will then be reserved and available only to those purchasing a gift for you. Another option is to custom order specific pieces.
When should I register?
It is best to register as early as possible. Custom orders may take 6-12 weeks depending on the style and number of pieces. For custom orders you should order two months prior to your first bridal shower or party. If you are choosing pieces that are currently in the store, please register before sending out your announcement.
What should I register for?
You may want to order a dinner set for 8-12 people depending on your needs. A typical dinner set includes a large plate, small plate, salad bowl, and a mug or teacup and saucer. Many people also choose lunch plates, small drinking cups, tumblers, cereal bowls, serving bowls, trays, platters, pitchers, canister sets, casserole dishes, spice bowls and other unique items.
We make our pots using stoneware clay. Stoneware is a type of clay body that is dense and nonabsorbent. It is very sturdy and typically has a very earthy look. The clay is typically speckled with different minerals and glazes will have beautiful subtleties. It is sturdy enough to be used on a daily basis, yet it is elegant enough to use for special times. Our glazes are made of finely ground minerals that become glassy and fuse to the clay during the firing. We make all our own glazes at Blue Sage Pottery, and all glazes are lead and barium free.
Ordering from Out of Town
If you don't live in Amarillo, there are two options for registering with us. You can set-up an on-line registry, or you can have a local boutique order pieces from us (so that gift givers will be able to see the pieces before purchasing). Call for more details on this option.
How do I let friends and family know I am registered at Blue Sage Pottery?
There are two ways to let gift givers know you are registered with us. You should list our name, address, phone number and website on the shower invitations and announcements. In addition to listing us on your announcements, you may want to send an e-mail to friends and family with a direct link to our website.
